About Ushi Taro Ramen Sunset

Located at 1382 9th Ave, San Francisco, CA 94122, Ushi Taro Ramen Sunset operates as a ramen serving San Francisco in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In San Francisco, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 11:30 am–2:30 pm. It is closed on Monday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Ushi Taro Ramen Sunset at (415) 766-4889; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, ushi-taro-ramen.square.site.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 439 reviews, which is a strong result for a ramen in San Francisco and suggests consistent service.

San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Francisco is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I've been here a few times. The quality is consistently good. Beef broth ramen is quite special and they handled it well. The noodles were fresh and not soggy. The meats were very soft and juicy. Service is also great.

Very delicious bowls of ramen. The noodles were al dente, steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare) like how it's supposed to, the broth is light yet packs a lot of flavor, the bone marrow mixed in the broth took it to another level. Will definitely be back for more. Thank you for the great food.

This is the first ramen restaurant I’ve been to that uses beef bone broth and I’ve eaten a far share of ramen. It tasted different but also had that familiar creamy, umami body. It’s medium to medium light thickness. It’s rich and tastes better with time. Small slices of mushroom added a nice crunch and more umami. We also got the kaarage which was beef instead of chicken. The beef was super soft and the flavor was good too. One of my new favorite ramen spots in the Bay Area.

Husband had the traditional paitan ramen broth and the black garlic oil was ✨. We had to order him a marrow and the server said his was small 🦐 so she gave him another on the house! The sliced beef was so tender and well seasoned, overall a unique and delicious 🍜. The ox tail stew was also enjoyed by everyone at our table.

This place uses beef based broth which is a nice departure from the common pork and chicken ramen offerings. We also tried the crispy mushrooms, gyoza, and oxtail appetizers, with the mushrooms being the favorite. The place was packed and it was a bit hard to flag them down for water refills, but the food was totally worth it. Highly recommended.
